Meet Ms. Ehrin

Hello Curlfriend!

I'm Ms Ehrin and so excited to work with you. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I earned my cosmetology license in 2005 and my instructor license in 2009.

In 2010 I began my career as an independent stylist at Azarra Salon and Wine.

In 2012 I thought I was grown and tried having my own salon. That WAS NOT for me but I still wanted to do something about the gaps I saw in the industry.

In 2016 I participated in the Deva Curl training in Culver City, CA. My educational career really began when I realized how necessary curly hair education was and how hard it was to find.

I created Kinky University to bridge the gaps that I saw in our industry. Things like curly hair education, financial literacy and time management. In addition to being a licensed beauty professional I am also a licensed financial professional. I earned my insurance license in 2022 to be sure that stylists and independent stylists had the protection for themselves and their families that they need. 

In addition to working as a solo stylist and educator. I currently teach 6th quarter (Nails & Skin) at Clover Park Technical College in the Cosmetology Department. I've had this position since 2018. 

I believe in the holy trinity; knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Educating others and getting them to step out of the "right/wrong" mindset and into the mindset of  let's see what happens and try to understand how we should proceed next is a challenge that I like. 

Whether it's a workshop of my own or the students at school, I love seeing the lightbulb come on. The moment when they make connections that, they or you simply never needed to know before or maybe no one you knew, knew how to explain is a magical moment for myself as an educator..
